Mining safety and rescue training photography for Coal Services

Documenting mining safety, rescue, and occupational hygiene training environments

Client: Coal Services
Project: Mining safety and rescue training documentation
Location: NSW (training gallery and Southern Mines Rescue Station, Wollongong)

Coal Services commissioned commercial Industrial Photography to update training and technical imagery for Mines Rescue and Mine Safety Occupational Hygiene (MSOH) programs. The work was produced to replace existing publication imagery and document updated equipment, facilities, and environments for professional training and internal use.

Primary photography was completed within a purpose-built underground training gallery used to replicate mine conditions for rescue and emergency response training. Additional photography was undertaken at the Southern Mines Rescue Station in Wollongong, documenting laboratory environments and safety equipment.

The brief required close replication of existing training imagery, accurate representation of equipment and procedures, and delivery to strict technical and documentation standards. Work was planned and executed efficiently to meet operational requirements and ensure imagery was suitable for ongoing training, compliance, and professional use.

This project is part of my industrial photography work across mining, infrastructure, and heavy industry.
